With the positive opinions from the municipalities of Tukums and Engure region, HYDROPLAN project for the environmental impact assessment (EIA) process has been completed, which lasted almost 2 years (more details in the project’s newspaper second publication of 2016). This significantly delayed an implementation of the project and served as a basis for the project financier – European Commission’s LIFE program, to extend the project for a year and a half till the end of February, 2018.
After EIA process completion, the implementation of the project is continued with the work on technical project finishing, which we are planning to perform at the begging of the next year. Work on other several project actions have been carried out - technical project of viewing platform is being prepared, an application for construction of graveyard fence is submitted to municipality of Tukums region, and work on preparation of project’s audio-visual materials (films and educational materials “Meza maja” for information centre) is continuing.
Land works in biotope renewal sites are planned to begin after the end of the bird nesting season in August next year.
