The tender, organized by Nature Conservation Agency, on the technical drafting of wetland restoration works within the LIFE+ project “Restoring the hydrological regime of Ķemeri National Park” has been successfully completed – the technical project will be prepared by Engineering company “PROFECTO”.

It will contain a detailed “to do” list for restoration activities of hydrological regime in floodplain of Skudrupīte River, Zaļais Bog and bog woodland and swamp forests along the western margin of Ķemeri Raised Bog. “PROFECTO” has experience of more than 15 years in working with hydraulic structures and drainage system solutions. During the last five years professionals from “PROFECTO” have drafted more than 60 various technical projects of drainage systems.

Elaboration of technical projects is the last phase of preparation works before the launch of practical restoration activities in project sites. As floodplain of Skudrupīte River is located next to the project territory “bog woodland and swamp forests along the western margin of Ķemeri Raised Bog” and both of them are in Tukums municipality, there will be one cumulative technical project elaborated. Another technical project will be elaborated for Zaļais bog, as it is located in Engure municipality.

Technical projects are supposed to be finished in spring 2015, after that actual earthworks can be started in the renewable wetland areas.
